Mellerud is a part of Dalsland county on the west shore of Lake Vänern. Small-scale operations are mixed here with an expansive business sector. We have a wealth of outdoor activities with Mount Kroppefjäll to the west and Lake Vänern to the east. Sport angling, hiking, boat life and camping are just a few examples of activities you can enjoy in our municipality.

Dalsland canal simply must be experienced – often referred to as Sweden's most beautiful waterway. The aqueduct at Håverud with adjoining locks is impressive.

Year 1908 the village of Mellerud became a market town. The official anniversary week is 13-19 october. Welcome!
